Upcoming Events

Summer Ball 2022: Saturday, 16th July 2022 – 6pm till late

After a busy few months of student events, we are excited to round up the academic year by inviting you to join us for a 3-course Caribbean-inspired dinner, entertainment, BBL’s Excellence Awards and, of course, an opportunity to dance the night away at our Summer Ball.

This is a diverse event open to non-lawyers.

Do you know someone in the Birmingham legal community (and surrounding areas) who has excelled in some way in the past 12 months? Do they deserve to be recognised by their peers and celebrated at our most glamourous event of the year?

Help us shine the spotlight on those who have gone ‘above and beyond’ to support colleagues and / or their local community! Nominees do not have to be BBL members but should ideally live or work in the Midlands. We invite nominations in the following categories:

Diversity Champion 2022
Lawyer of the Year (includes Solicitors, Barristers, Partners, Legal Executives, practising and non-practising)
Junior Legal Professional of the Year (including paralegals, apprentices, trainees, pupils, legal assistants)
BBL Student of the Year

Hike the Malvern Hills: Saturday, 17th September 2022

Calling all outdoor lovers and aspiring hikers!

Join us for a day out in nature – the perfect way to get your steps in and have fun with new and old connections. There will be a small charge to cover administration fees and donations to our Charity Partner. Further details will be announced soon.

Birmingham Black Business Show 2022 (NEC Birmingham): Saturday, 18th June 2022 – 9:00 to 18:00

We are proud to welcome to our City for the first time, Birmingham Black Business Show!

This event seeks to inspire and connect entrepreneurs and black professionals through an array of workshops, exhibits, talks and more.

Charity Partner of the Year

The African Caribbean Community Initiative, is a Wolverhampton based charity, providing a culturally safe service that meets the needs of the African and Caribbean community and their families, who are affected by mental ill health.
